GT Switches from Round Board to Ice

Dec 19, 2004
Chance can Twirl
Chance can Twirl

Not permanently, but for one day, GT Speed gave up the round board, and transplanted itself to an outdoor skating venue for fun and games rather than work. We went to the Centennial Olympic Park ice rink which is a holiday favorite in normally warm Atlanta. And, the day actually started out pretty warm, but it got cold fast! Despite the weather, our spirits were not to be dampened. David strapped on a pair of rental skates and showed us that he hadn't lost his touch. There many attempts to create pile-ups on the floor. And we didn't get into trouble until we started making trains around the ice rink.

Some chicken parents (me included) hung around the thermos jugs and drank lots of hot chocolate and tea, Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts coffee, too. The prize for the most creative food went to Kathryn Hyzer who made really cute little peanut butter cookies which looked exactly like little mice, complete with tail! The day was topped off with a presentation of the team gift to David -- a new gold pendant with GT Speed 2004-05 team engraved on it.
