Ryan Cox Back on the ICE!!By Tish - May 3, 2004
From Charlie Bennett: It is my privilege to announce that Ryan Cox has not only returned to the ice, but has been accepted to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs where he will now live and train with the best in the country, the other 11 skaters who qualified !! I would like to Congratulate Ryan on a FAST and FULL recovery from a serious accident and wish Ryan the best of luck as he moves one step closer to THE DREAM COME TRUE!It shows a true sign of a champion to bounce back from an injury that would end most people's career. Ryan is a hard worker and great things will come from him in the future !! 3/12/04 Update: Received an email from Ryan's mom, Cindy, and she reports that Ryan is up and about. He is using a back brace, but he is able to walk unassisted as of today. Charlie Bennett reports that Ryan is even able to go up and down stairs! Cindy wants me to be sure to thank everyone for their support. When Ryan gets back to town, he'll need lots of visitors to keep his spirits up! Former GT Skater Ryan Cox, also known as Flyin' Ryan, switched to short track ice a year ago. He has been living and training in southern California and has placed in several international ice speed events. This week (2/17/04) Ryan took a fall at practice and fractured 5 vertebrae in his back. GT speed wishes Ryan a full and speedy recovery. We know his championship drive and determined mind will not allow him to be kept down for long. Cindy, Ryan's mom, has gone to California to be with him. Please keep Ryan in your prayers.
Waaaay Over on Edges!
