What do old skaters do when they retire? Well, I bet we all wish that we could do what Sandy and Carroll Sutherland are doing. After years "at the ole grindstone," with Sandy organizing all our hotel reservations and also sending everyone else off on great vacations, she is going to get to live in paradise with the ocean view! After years of designing things for others, Carroll is going to get to design several new bedrooms for his new home and has lots of help to do it!

Yep, when some retire, they do it in style. Our good friends are leaving behind the smell of roll-on and the expense of new skates for an ocean view on the Big Island of Hawaii, in the Kau District (south part). To see a picture of their house, along with the realtors description, look below. Sandy promises to send us pictures of the ocean and the Protea plants she will be "farming." What? You don't know what Protea are? Well, don't dispair, I didn't either, so I asked Sandy and you know she's done her research.

Here are Sandy's comments:

"Protea plants are very tall tropical flowers...with huge blooms that look like feathers...With a circle center that feels like velvet...They sell for $1 to $5 a stem....and we already have a florist who wants all of them...They are well established...about 10 15 yrs old...and in excellent health...no care or upkeep. They are on an irrigation system. If it doesn't rain you water every two weeks...keep the dead leaves off"

What a blast! I'm sure everyone will join me in sending the Sutherlands off with all of our good wishes and a few hints that they let us know when they will be ready for visitors!
